About me

About me

Jake Fay has always valued filmmaking as a vocation — something that takes an immense amount of creativity, but even more of an ability to be organized, prepared, and a leader. A leader of people, ideas, and budgets.

Growing up in Lynn Massachusetts as an aspiring basketball player, Fay was inspired by the ability of the video format to make the audience feel something. Long before he knew filmmaking as a vocation Fay saw the value of the ability to tell stories via film.

He studied film at the University of Hartford, graduating in 2016, then earned an MBA from the University of the Virgin Islands in 2018 — all while playing division 1 basketball.

What makes Fay a unique director is the range of the work itself. He directs narrative, documentary, and commercial projects — seeing each through, from creative concept to client notes to distribution. He's also been a crew member himself — gaffing for major brands such as New Balance and Puma on national campaigns. What sets him apart isn't one role; it's all of them: preproduction, budgeting, and creative concept work, managing a crew on set, and seeing a project through post, short-term or long. Fay prides himself on being a filmmaker, and everything that comes with it.
